The Gambia will crash with Liberia in the 2015 WAFU U-20 football championship today, Thursday 5 November 2015, in Saint Louis, Senegal.

The Gambia beat Liberia 1-0 in the first leg of the 2015 African U-20 Youth championship qualifiers in Monrovia on 6 April 2014.

Former Commit and Brikama United talisman, Bakary Daffeh, scored the only goal for the Gambia U-20 in the 38th minute of the game from alias Steve - Bubacarr Trawally’s brilliant effort to smash home the opener, which eventually proved to be the winner for the Darling Scorpions.

The Gambia were disqualified from the 2015 African U-20 Youth championship qualifiers and also banned from all football related-activities by CAF after being found guilty of fielding five overage players during their first leg clash with Liberia U-20.

The Darling Scorpions will be endeavouring for a victory against the young Lone Stars today in order to enhance their chances of qualifying for the final.

The Lone Stars, on the other hand, will also be considering a win against the Darling Scorpions to increase their hopes of qualifying for the final.

The sub-regional championship is expected to attract four nations, namely the host nation Senegal, Guinea Bissau, Liberia and The Gambia.

The WAFU championship is meant for players plying their trades in their respective domestic leagues.
