Gambia have unveiled its 18-man squad that will feature in the West African
Football Union (WAFU) tournament that kicks off in Ghana in two weeks’ time.
The team, led by Omar Sise, will be camped at a local hotel on Monday evening before departure to Takoradi where they face off the hosts in the opening game on September 9.
The Gambia plays the Ghana Black Stars B team in the first round of the 2017 WAFU tournament before the winners of the tie progress to the group stages.
The matches have been split into the two zones operational in the WAFU area. Zone A will also be completed by the winners between Mali and Mauritania as well as the winner between Guinea Conakry and Guinea-Bissau.
While in Zone B, Senegal meets Liberia, Burkina Faso are pitted against Niger, Ivory Coast face off with Togo and Benin will have to slug it out with Cape Verde.
