Gambia’s national senior team is intensifying preparations for their must-win 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at home to Algeria on Saturday 8 September, at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Scorpions are currently embarking on massive training at the Independence Stadium in Bakau to make themselves fit and ready for their clash with the Desert Foxes.

They must beat Algeria to keep their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualification hopes alive after slipping to Benin 1-0 in the opening day of the qualifiers last year.

Coach Tom Saintfiet will be expecting to win his debut match with the Scorpions after signing a nine months contract with the country’s football authorities few months ago.
