Gambia hosts Nigeria in AWCON qualifiers today

Gambia Female Scorpions hosts their Nigerian Super Falcons counterparts today at the Independence Stadium in Bakau in the second and final round of Qualifiers for the 2019 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations Ghana.

The Gambia seeks to fight for a place at the next edition of the Africa Women’s flagship tournament after the Women’s Scorpions edged out Burkina Faso 3-2 on aggregate to now face off Africa’s serial champions Nigeria for the first time duel between the two countries.

The Super Falcons arrived in Banjul on Monday and are adapting with training at the National Technical Training Center in Yundum and Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The GFF Events Management Committee (EMC) says entry tickets for the match is absolutely free and the game will kick off at 16:00hrs at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.

The Gambia is camped at the Football Hotel in Yundum with 21 players and 7 officials.
