‘Gambia football is in a state of disaster’

A one-time Secretary General and head of the civil service in Gambia’s former government said the country’s football is in a state of disaster as the governing body Gambia Football Federation (GFF) continues to fail in their responsibility.

Speaking at a recent sports awarding event organised by his established Sabally Leadership Academy (SLA) in Central River Region-North village of Sabach Sanjal, Momodou Sabally, also the chief executive officer of Gambia Consulting said the country’s football governing body has leadership crises and they are disorganised with division, disunity and infighting. Mr. Sabally said the noise in Gambian football is incomparable to any other country’s football in the sub-region.

He called on GFF to stop the infighting and work to improve football in the country or make voluntary resignation before they are fired and cause FIFA to suspend the country. “I am not happy about GFF and the state of football in the country.’’
