Gambia faces Mozambique in quarterfinals, Judoka Ceesay miss in first attempt

The Gambia men beach volleyball team will face African beach games gold medalist Mozambique in the quarterfinals of the 12th African Games underway in Morocco.

On Saturday, Gambia beat Libya 2-0 to qualify from Pool A at the expense of 2016 Olympians Tunisia and Libya. The pair of Jawo and Jarra racked up two wins from three games to earn their last eight ticket. The women’s team lost to Nigeria 2-0 and fail to progress to the knockout face. They play ranking now.

Meanwhile in Judo, Gambia’s Abdourahman Ceesay miss target in first attempt, after losing to Malagasy fighter. This is Ceesay’s first appearance at a major event.
