Gambia national senior team will be eyeing to upset Algeria in their final group D qualifiers in March next year in Algiers and hope Benin slip at home to Togo to gain qualification to the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Scorpions are five points behind Algeria in the continent’s bi-annual biggest football fray qualifiers and need a victory against the Desert Foxes and hope Benin fall to Togo in their final group match to make debut appearance in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Gambia came very close to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations in 2010 following their famous away 1-1 draw with Senegal. Since then, the Scorpions have been failing in their attempts to qualifier for the continent’s biggest football fiesta under previous foreign coaches.
