Gambia, E-Guinea friendly called off

Friday, October 20, 2017

The Gambia Football Federation has confirmed the cancellation of the proposed friendly international match with Guinea Equatorial earlier planned to take place in Spain.

The cancellation, according to Football House is necessitated by unforeseen circumstances beyond their control.

However, the GFF said the Scorpions are still scheduled to be in action in November during the international break and the GFF Executive is arranging an alternative opponent.

They therefore apologise for any inconvenience the change of arrangements may have caused.

In a separate development, the GFF said its 2017/2018 season will begin on 11th November with a Super Cup Final between Gambia Armed Forces FC and Hawks FC for the start of the new season.

As such, GFF added that, the traditional Club Management meeting (pre-season meeting) between clubs and the Federation would take place today, Friday 20th October 2017 at the Independence Stadium Friendship Hostel.

The meeting will avail the stakeholders the opportunity to review the 2016/17 League Season and preview the coming season.

Other important technical matters are also expected to be discussed.
