Gambia Deaf national football team is soliciting financial support from the government, the private sector, donors, philanthropists, NGOs, companies and individuals to enable their participation in the ninth edition of West African deaf football championship.

The regional football festivity is organised by West Africa Deaf Sports Union (WADSU) in collaboration with the Ministry of Sports of Serra Leone and ECOWAS Youth and Sports Development Center (EYSDC).

The tournament will run from 3 to 12 September, meant to foster unity and understanding among deaf people in the ECOWAS member states. The Gambia will join two qualified countries for the championship.

Serra Leone’s ministry of sports fully supported the host federation in providing them all necessary technical support.

President of Gambia Deaf Sports Association (GDSA) Lamin Ceesay said they have already submitted their formal documents to the Ministry of Youth and Sports through the National Sports Council (NSC) four months ago.

He said anyone or institution that wish to support Gambia Deaf national team can contact the following numbers-77280 92 or 7601968.
