under-20 team has started their second phase training prior to the 2019 Africa
U-Youth Championship qualifiers slated for later this year.
Coach Matarr Mboge is currently training with twenty-three players drawn from the country’s domestic first and second division league clubs after completing an intensive sessions with twenty-five players at the FIFA Goal Project in Old Yundum.
Mboge and his Young Scorpions charges will use the upcoming months to prepare themselves fit for the continent’s cadet bi-annual biggest football fray qualifiers after their failure to qualify in 2017.
The team and its leadership are expected to employ all efforts to qualify the country to the 2019 Africa U-20 Youth Championship to be hosted in Niger, following their failure to qualify in the 2017 edition hosted in Zambia after their 2-1 aggregate defeat away to Guinea Conakry in the qualifiers under former coach Omar Sise.
