Gambia national team is bracing up for their international friendly match
against Central African Republic on Saturday March 24, at the Independence
Stadium in Bakau at 4.30pm.
Gambia Football Federation appointed technical director Sang Ndong will guide the Scorpions to their most-anticipated international friendly clash against Central African Republic despite his new appointment.
Mr. Ndong will invite several foreign and local based players for the international friendly encounter against the Central African nation to prepare the Scorpions fit for their crunch 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at home to Algeria in September this year.
The Gambia is paired with Algeria, Benin and Togo in group D of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Scorpions are currently with zero points after losing Benin in the opening qualifier match in Cotonou last year. They now need only a victory against Algeria in September this year to keep their hopes of making their debut in the continent’s biggest football fiesta since its inception in 1957.
