Gambia battle Togo in AFCON Qualifiers return-leg today

Gambia’s senior Scorpions will battle the Hawks of Togo at the Independence Stadium in Bakau today in the return leg of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at 4.30pm.

The Scorpions held the Hawks to a 1-1 draw in the first leg fixture played at the Stade Municipal in Lome on Friday. They will now be hoping to overwhelm Togo in the return leg today in Banjul to secure second spot in group D and also keep their debut Africa Cup of Nations qualification hopes alive.

Togo will tussle to batter The Gambia in the return leg today in Banjul to occupy second place in group D following their 1-1 draw with their fellow West Africans over the weekend.

Benin will welcome Algeria in the other return leg today in Cotonou; the Squirrels will brawl for revenge after losing to the Desert Foxes 2-0 in the first leg in Algiers over the weekend. Algeria is leading group D with 7 points after three group matches and Benin are second with 4 points in three group matches.

The Gambia and Togo are third and fourth places respectively in-group D with 2 points each after three group matches.
