Gaira Joof’s brace moves Bnei Lod top of Israeli standings

Gambian professional midfielder, Gaira Joof has scored twice for his Israeli side Hapoel Bnei Lod in their 4-3 away win over former league leaders Maccabi Ahi Nazareth in the week thirty-six fixtures of the Israeli (Liga Leumit) Second Division League, played at the llut Stadium on Monday.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder, who scored his side-winning goal in their last fixture in the 86th minute, scored his brace goals in a five-minute span to put his side top of the standings after beaten their main competitor Maccabi Ahi Nazareth.

This latest win has moved them top of the standings leveling on (46) point with Maccabi Ahi Nazareth after they both played 36 matches.

The Scorpions U-20 midfielder now scored four goals in his club last four matches, making him scored five goals for his team after featuring in 12 games so far this season.

Hapoel Bnei Lod will next play Hapoel Acre, at home on Friday, while Maccabi Ahi Nazareth will travel away to Hapoel Ramat HaSharon the same day.
