GAF wallops Hawks to maintain league title hopes

The current league champions Gambia Armed Forces has defeated FF cup champions Hawks 3-1 in their re-scheduled fixture played at the Box Bar Mini Stadium in Brikama on Saturday to keep their league title hopes alive.

The Soldiers, who lost to Zambian Premier League side Zanaco FC 3-0 in the first leg of the 2018 CAF champions league preliminaries last week, came for the maximum points to boost their league aspirations.

Gambia Armed Forces grasped the maximum points after slotting three goals to boost their league title ambitions.

Hawks, who beat Nigerian Premier League side Akwa United 2-1 in the first leg of the 2018 CAF Confederations cup preliminaries, managed to pull back once which eventually proved to be a consolation goal for the Red Devils.

Gambia Armed Forces has now secured 17 points in eleven league matches and Hawks with 11 points after eleven league matches.
