by his colleague, The Point has been informed.
The victim is currently on admission and receiving treatment at the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital.
Meanwhile, Silvester Gomez, the accused is under the custody of the 4 Infantry Battalion Military Police as investigation into the matter continues.
The spokesperson of the GAF, Major Lamin Sanyang, confirmed the development to The Point. The victim, he said, sustained injury in his upper leg. However, he was quick to add that the injury is not a life threatening.
He said the gun was negligently discharged by the accused in one of the guard post at Kanilai Military Barrack, adding that a Board of Inquiry has been established to investigate the matter.
