Public Relations Officer (PRO) Lt. Malick Sanyang of The Gambia Armed Forces
(GAF) has shed light on the rumour mill that claimed that a suspected timber
merchant was shot by Senegalese army in Sibanor.
According to sources, the man became unconscious due to wounds he sustained during the incident, and he was later hospitalised. Sibanor is located in Foni Bintang-Karanai, in the West Coast Region of The Gambia.
Nevertheless, the army spokesperson said that The Gambia and Senegal have mutual understanding to support each other in terms of security. He admitted that the Senegalese army manhandled a driver but he didn’t know how and why it happened.
