Armed Forces (GAF) have been left behind in The Gambia Football Federation
(GFF) premier league title race following their goalless stalemate with Samger
FC in their week twenty-fifth fixture played at the Independence Stadium in
Bakau, on Saturday.
The soldiers who were enjoying the upper advantage in the title race blew away all their chances against Hawks, Banjul United and now Samger FC. The 2016 league champions collected two points in possible nine that hampered their chances of clinching the title.
The Academy boys’ draw against GAF confirmed their relegation to the second Division next season.
Brikama United are within one win of securing their second ever Gambian league title, leaving GAF failing to continue their race. Brikama United who were standing fine after topping the league table, will not want to leave any stone unturned in their final league encounter, while Real de Banjul, who are on the second position will also be entertaining Marimoo.
This year’s Gambia Football Federation (GFF) First Division League will see the title to be decided on the final day of the league season.
