GAF dismisses 4 soldiers for alleged plotting to arrest CDS Kinteh

The Gambia Armed Forces on Monday dismissed four soldiers who were accused of trying to arrest the chief of Defence Staff, Lt. Gen. Masanneh Kinteh, The Point has been reliably informed.

The soldiers were Lance Corporal Lamin Sanneh, Ousman Jammeh, Lance Corporal Touray and Corporal Omar Touray.

The spokesperson of GAF, Lamin Sanyang, confirmed the development to The Point, saying a panel compromising Office of the President, Office of the National Security Adviser, personnel of the State Intelligence Services, GAF and officers of the Gambia Police Force were the bodies tasked to investigate the matter.

All the dismissed soldiers, he said, were from the Fajara Barrack. “The GAF is still hunting the three soldiers who were posted at Gunjur and escaped during the process.”
