United States charity; Friends of West Africa The Gambia (FOWAG), in
partnership with Bijilo Diasporans have recently donated two hundred bags of
rice to families in Kerr Sering and
Bijilo and some communities in the North Bank Region. The beneficiaries include
elders, Imams, communities and vulnerable families.
The charity aims to put a smile on the face of every vulnerable person and communities in The Gambia with education, health and agriculture as some of their focus areas.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony at Bijilo Lower Basic School, facilitator Momodou Jallow said the gesture was timely and would immensely help the beneficiaries in their daily meal.
Mr. Jallow said the Charity has been providing such humanitarian gesture to the communities of Bijilo and Kerr Sering for more than five years now, through the facilitation of the Charity’s coordinator Ousman Ndow.
One of the beneficiaries; Dado Mbureh said Ousman Ndow and the Charity have been very beneficial to the people of Bijilo and Kerr Sering.
Imam Ratib of Bijilo Lamin Njie also thanked Mr. Ndow through FOWAG for his annual support to the neediest Muslims, saying that the holy Month of Ramadan is a caring and sharing month which is very important. Therefore, he also joined the previous speakers to encourage and pray for Mr. Ndow for long life and health so as to give more support to humanity.
