Foundation Humanitarian Aid -Gambia, an NGO in the country, last Friday donated furniture to Ansar Islamic School in Ndemban Jola, Foni Brefet district. The donated materials, which include 40 chairs and 41 tables, were presented at a ceremony held at the school grounds.

Speaking at the occasion, Sunkary Badjie, chairman of Brikama Area Council and a board member of the foundation, said the foundation has been operating in The Gambia for the past ten years. He said that their areas of intervention are health, agriculture and education.

Badjie further stated that the NGO has in the past supported Somita Health Centre with an Ambulance and it has also built a health centre in Bakadaji in the Upper River Region.

Mr. Badjie said the arrival of the chairs and tables will greatly help the students of the school.

He commended the village development committee of Ndemban Jola for the good work they are doing in the community.

For her part, the National Assembly Member for the area, Mrs. Bintading Jarju, commended the foundation for their timely intervention noting that the items donated have come at the right time.

She urged others to emulate the kind gesture of the foundation.

Other speakers at the occasion included the Chief of Foni Brefet, Junkung Camara, and the Alkalo of the village Abdou Badjie.
