Former Metz player Alieu Jatta in Raja Casablanca trial

Moroccan club Raja Casablanca has taken Scorpions defender Alieu Jatta on trial, ahead of the new season.

The Gambian left back joined the eleven-time Moroccan and three-time African champions on a trial after his release from relegated French Ligue 1 side FC Metz.

The 22-year-old defender spent two years at Metz and though he impressed for the reserve sides, he was eventually let go by the Lorraine-based club.

The former Brikama United and Génération Foot player featured 11 times for Metz’s B team before being sent out on loan to French non-league outfit Entente Sportive Villerupt Thil.

Alieu Jatta is now in the Moroccan largest city of Casablanca trying out with Raja with the hope to convince coach Juan Carlos Garrido that he is worth a deal.

The Green Eagles finished sixth on the 16-team Moroccan Botola Pro league table with 48 points and are third in Group A of the CAF Confederation Cup.
