Foreign Ministry to assign discharged army generals soon

Official sources at the ministry of Foreign Affairs in Banjul have confirmed the redeployment of four army generals reportedly recently discharged from the Gambia armed forces, and disclosed to The Point that they will soon be assigned to their various posts in the diplomatic service.

“Arrangements are being made for the men to take their assignments soon,” the source announced.

The redeployment of Major General Saikou Seckan, chair of the Joint Operation Centre;Brig. Gen. Lamin Bojang, the chief of Army Staff; Brig. Gen. Ebrima Bah, Inspector General of GAF and Commodore Madani Senghore, the chief of Naval Staff, is the latest move that saw officers of the military being deployed to the foreign service.

They now join former top military officers redeployed to the foreign ministry some time back, including Serign Modou Njie, former state guard commander and brigadier-general Yankuba Drammeh, former deputy chief of defence staff.
