Football House race gains momentum

Wednesday, July 18, 2018

The race for Football House has gained momentum as the 2018 Gambia Football Federation (GFF) Elective congress draws closer.

The country’s football governing body will hold its elective congress on Saturday 18 August, at the Football Hotel in Old Yundum. Delegates will elect new executive during the congress that will steer the affairs of football in the country for the next four year.

The mandate for the current executive under the leadership of Lamin Kabba Bajo will expire in September this year. Nomination is open for interested candidates who want to contest for the presidency and nomination will close tomorrow at 12noon.

Incumbent president Lamin Kabba Bajo had earlier this year declared his intention to run for the second term.

Kabba will face stiff competition from former CAF and FIFA referee Malick Sillah, who also intends to vie for the GFF presidential election set for August 18.
