Food and drinks tourism is one of the fastest growing areas in the tourism sub sector, but accroding to the proprietress of D-Nubian, the tourist season this year is getting worse. According to her, all the tourists who are coming to The Gambia, are repeat tourist and most tourists are staying at home.

One of the latest addition to the galaxy of fine eateries in town located in the Senegambia hotel area, D-Nubian with its special beat and charming atmosphere is owned by a Gambian, Madam Haratou Jallow.

Having spent more than 15 years in the United States of America, Madam Jallow has another cleaning company which she named H2 D-Bistro in which 46 people work.

In a chat with Entertainment last Tuesday, Ms Jallow said if the tourist season is good, there will not be so many problems. She went on to say that the objective of opening the cleaning company and D-Nubian is to empower women through creating job opportunities for them as well as to contribute towards national development.
