Focus on Gambian footballers abroad

Dawda Leight and Kristian Brix Vålerenga at 5th position and 15 points title hopes in the Norwegian Tippeligaen, have suffered another setback on Saturday following a 1-0 defeat to Strømsgodset.

The 2009 Sports Journalists Association of the Gambia's Foreign Footballer of the Year, Tijan Jaiteh's Brann shared points with Odd Grenland, in a goalless draw away in the Sunday matches.

Brann is standing at 13 position with nine points.

Abdou Darbo's Honefoss settled for a 1-1 draw with Molde to level at four points with The Gambia's counterpart, Ebrima Sohna's Sandefjord, who lost to  Lillestrom 4-0 .

The Gambia's attacker Aziz Corr Nyang, Alieu and Sahou Jagne beat Väsby United 4-0  in the Swedish Superettan league.

In Switzerland, Abdourahman Dampha and Neachatel Xamax lost to Pa Modou Jagne's St. Gallen 2-1. St. Gallen now at 46 points and 6 position, is ahead of Neachatel Xamax, who are lagging behind at 37 points and 8 positions in the Swiss Axpo Super League.

In Finland, Dawda Bah and Demba Savage sides went in for glory in their tough weekend fixtures. Dawda Bah's HJK Helsinki thrashed VPS Vaasa 3-0 on Sunday to stay top of the league. 

Savage's Honka beat Mariehamn 3-0 on Saturday and are now ranked third.

In the German second Bundesliga, Pa Saikou Kujabi's FVS Frankfurt drew 0-0 with Rot Weiss Ahlen on Sunday, a result which has ranked them 15.
