Five schools receive textbooks

Imam Momodou Lamin Jabbi foundation in Foni Besse in the West Coast Region recently donated text books to five schools in the area.

The beneficiary schools were Sibanor, Somita, Ndemban, Sutusinjang Upper Basic Schools and St. John Vianny Senior Secondary School in Bulock.

Principals of the beneficiary schools in Besse received the books.

In his statement, Imam Jabbi praised Almighty Allah for giving him the strength to contribute his quota in national development.

He said it is an obligation to all citizens to participate in national development duties, in fostering unity, peace and development of the country, describing education as key to development.

He reiterated his foundation’s principles and commitment in supporting the needy people.

 He also used the occasion to call for religious tolerance among different religions and sects for the interest of peace.

In receiving the books, the Principal of St. John Vianny Senior Secondary School in Bulock, Andrew Jarju, described the gesture as timely and relevant to them as it complements government’s efforts in the provision of quality and relevant education.

 He disclosed that it would capacitise both the students and teachers in their teaching and learning process.

Mariama Sankaneh, Principal of Sutusinjang School, described the donation as a means to solve the problems they are encountering in their schools regarding learning materials.

 She assured the donor that the books would be put into good use.

The Head Chief of Foni Brefet, Alh Junkung Camara, also described the donor as God-fearing person who always thinks of what good thing he could do for his people.

He cited the numerous projects that the Imam is supporting in the area, while calling for unity and forgiveness among the people of the country.
