Youth Chamber of Commerce’s (GYCC) first National Youth Agribusiness and
Tourism Expo starts Friday, October 26 to November 4 at the Independence
Stadium in Bakau.
The ten days youth exhibition will bring together over 100 young entrepreneurs from across the country to one place to market their products and services, network, learn from one another and improve business growth.
the expo, GYCC will organize side events such as youth-stakeholder dialogue to
bring senior government officials to table to dialogue with expo participants
to discuss the theme: Where do we envisage the future of work in our rural
economy with special focus on Youth opportunities?
There will also be a panel on youth trade and agribusiness forum on the theme: Youth employment in agriculture and tourism as a solid solution to ending food insecurity and unemployment in The Gambia.
Another workshop on packaging which will shed light on packaging methods, product branding essentials, export requirement and food safety will be held during the expo, including pitching contest, fashion night and musical performances, among other events.
The Youth Empowerment Project (YEP), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and other partners including NEMA and FASDEP will mainly fund the Expo.
The Gambia Youth Chamber of Commerce (GYCC) is the voice of young entrepreneurship in The Gambia. Members are entrepreneurs who mobilize young African entrepreneurs in The Gambia to improve their lives and give them a voice. They also create market space by organizing regional exhibitions, training, mentorship programs and soft skills to young entrepreneurs to get them out of their marginalized positions and support them to become successful entrepreneurs.
