Chief
Executive Director of Tuutima Sunrise Gambia Limited last Friday unveiled First
Lady Fatou Bah Barrow’s football jamboree prior to the week-long football
tournament kick-off in Sambouya.
The
tournament kicked-off last Saturday at Sambuoya village targeting cordial
relationships between Sambouya and its surrounding villages such as Tujereng,
Batokunku, Tanji, Banyanka, Gunjur, Sanyang and Kunkujang.
The
star prize of the tournament includes a cash of D110, 000, 1 gold and 3 silver
cups with footballs.
Shortly
after the draw for the tournament, each of the participating eight teams
received a cash of D5, 000, footballs and football pump to enable them prepare
well for the tournament.
The
winner of each game will receive D5, 000 as winning bonus as they progress to
the next round and the overall winner of the tournament will pocket D25, 000
cash and a golden cup.
Markku
Krusjarvi, from Finland and CEO of Tuutima Sunrise Gambia Limited, said as part
of their project activities for the village of Sambouya, the tournament is
meant to both bring together and cement good relationship between Sambouya and
its surrounding communities.
He
disclosed that that one of their main
projects, is the building of Ecology Hotel in Sambouya village and as well
skills training center that would admit youths of the village and its environs.
Ebrima
Faal, a Gambian based in Finland and proprietor of Simolin Water and Energy
Limited stated that Tuutima Sunrise Gambia Limited is aimed at bringing
investors from Finland to The Gambia to invest.
He
pointed out that the football tournament in Sambouya village is one of their
youth development projects in the country.
Faal
urged the participating teams and supporters to compete in the tournament with
a fair play spirit.
