Fire outbreak destroys two compounds in Bush Town

A fire incident in Central River Region Sami District village of Bush Town last week burnt two compounds to ashes belonging to Momodou Gedda Sowe and Musa Sonko. The source of the fire could not be established at the time of going to press but several materials got perished into the inferno including 6 bicycles, 2 motorcycles, coos, rice, clothes and cash.

Motala Boye, a grade 11 student of Bansang senior secondary school lost all his vital textbooks and uniforms during the fire incident. He also appealed to people to come to his aid so that his schooling will continue. 

Alklao of Bush Town, Lamin Kanyi expressed sympathy with the victims and appealed to the government to bring firefighters in the area so that such incidents will be timely curtailed when they occur. He appealed to the National Disaster Management Agency and other donors and individuals to come to their aid.

The victims Mamadou Gedda Sowe and Musa Sonko thanked the people of the area for their response for assistance when the incident occurred. They also appealed to government and individuals for assistance.
