president Gianni Infantino has said on Monday that Gambia is a small country
but likes football with true passion and love.
During his one-day visit to The Gambia, the Swiss-Italian world football governing boss said what is happening in The Gambia is very special compared to other countries, noting that they are here to cooperate with football authorise, saying they will increase financial assistance to help develop the country’s football and the rest of the 211 member Associations.
Mr. Infantino expressed appreciation for meeting President Adama Barrow on Monday, revealing that he is impressed with the development taking place in the country’s football scene, while assuring FIFA’s continuous support.
Gambia Football Federation president Lamin Kaba Bajo spoke highly on the support they receive from FIFA towards football development, adding that Gambian football would not have been where it is without FIFA support and intervention.
He said since Infantino took over as FIFA president, Gambia tremendously benefited from the global football governing body.
