The Managing Director of Fibre Glass Gambia Ltd, Mr. Abdoulie Jawaneh, has expressed the need for Gambian youths to be more focused on productive skills.

He made this remark in an exclusive interview with the Point Newspaper in Brikama on Tuesday.

Jawaneh also encouraged the government to create more factories so as to enable the youths engage in productive ventures.

Mr. Jawaneh, who is a wheelchair fiberglass-maker, stated that not everyone can fit in an office, noting that others have to be technically-orientated.

He added that despite the fact that there is a lot of development being undertaken by the government, there is room for improvement. He stressed that strengthening the technical know-how of the youths would help develop the country.

Commenting on illegal migration, Abdoulie Jawaneh, said there is a need to come up with initiatives geared towards eradicating the menace, such as factories or projects that would provide opportunities for the unemployed youths.

Mr. Jawaneh also called on the management to assist in coming up with projects, where youths can engage in meaningful production.

In conclusion, he said the country can only be developed by Gambians.
