Football Federation (GFF) Friday held balloting of the preliminary round of the
2018-2019 FF cup competition at the Football House in Kanifing.
As part of the preliminary round balloting, second tier side Second Infantry clash with Kanifing Municipality Regional third division league club Flamemin while Kanifing Municipality Regional third division league side B/K West will battle it out with West Coast Regional third tier club Tujereng United.
Second tier club Red Hawks will lock horns with North Bank Regional division league side Barra while North Bank Regional third division league side Mauritanie will rub-shoulders with West Coast Regional third tier club GCCA/BIA.
Speaking at the balloting held at the Football House in Kanifing, Competitions Director GFF Baboucarr Jobe said eight teams are set to contest for the first phase of the Competition. He said two bottom clubs from league division two (Second Infantry and Red Hawks) and the champions from the Regions.
Mr. Jobe stated that preliminary round would be on a Knock Out basis and only GFF designated grounds would be used for the matches. He further stated that matches will kick off on 9 April to 11. “This will be followed by another phase where league one and two teams will be joined by the winners of the preliminaries in another balloting,” Jobe said.
