Senior Magistrate Abdoulie Mbacke of the Kanifing Magistrates' Court has stated that few Nigerians are responsible for tarnishing the image of Nigeria.

Magistrate Mbacke made these remarks recently while sentencing one Chukwu Emeka Odemene, a Nigerian national to 18 months in prison with hard labour for the offence of stealing and obtaining money by false pretence.

Noting that Nigeria is a great country with human and natural resources, he said majority of them are hard working. And then he urged Nigerian citizens to be proud of their country and cherish its image.

Magistrate Mbacke warned that Nigerians who do not abide by the laws of the country and found wanting in criminal activities would be given a handshake and ask to leave the country.

He finally told the court that the convict would be deported after serving his sentence.
