groups across the country have returned gratitude to the Forest and Family Farm
under the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nation for sponsoring
them to participate in this year’s World Food Day celebration held at Farafenni
in the North Bank Region.
The farmers, who spoke to this reporter appreciated the way FFF have empowerment them to become successful businesswomen.
Speaking, Bakoto Jobe Mboge of Old Jeshwang, Fruit and Food processor, disclosed that she was trained in business development plans and thanked FFF through FAO for their financial support to enable her association to participate in this year’s World Food Day celebration.
She said her association is producing various kind of fruits diet, ranging from ‘wonjo’, honey, soap, tie and dye among others, and thanked the Farmer National Platform and NACOFAG for their encouragement.
Also speaking, Kanimang Camara, coordination of FFF, said the Forest and Farm Facility since last year are getting requests from farmer producers group to be supported to participate in the celebration to better help to showcase their local products.
Mr Camara disclosed that they succeeded through the Forest and Farm Facility by providing support to the national association of the food processors.
He added that FFF had supported ten producers to display their products during the celebration, all about women empowerment so that they could take their effective role in improving their livelihood at the household level.
Mr Camara described the event as important for them as this was where farmers display their locally made products, and commended the farmers’ group for responding positively to the celebration.
