Farafenni acknowledges Al-Khair Foundation generosity

People of North Bank Region commercial town of Farafenni have acknowledged and praised Al-Khair Foundation for its generosity of providing food items to support in the holy month of Ramadan.

The UK based organisation, over the weekend presented some colossal valuable food items through its implementing partner, Hear Women-The Gambia.  Fifty families in Farafenni benefited from the gesture which include rice, sugar, oil, milk, tea and dates.

Hear Women-The Gambia national coordinator Susan Jatta said the donation was part of their generosity to share with the needy.

She commended Al-Khair Foundation for providing the support and commended the Hear Women team for being in the forefront in implementing the food distribution task appropriately. “This intervention is timely and it will go a long way in supporting the beneficiaries in fulfilling their fast breaking during the holy month of Ramadan.”

Sainey Dibba who spoke on behalf of the beneficiaries said the donation came at the right time, saying it will help the beneficiaries greatly.

He cited that among the people who received the gifts were children, widowers and the elderly. “The donated food items will assist the people of Farafenni. He also thanked Al-Khair Foundation for their generosity and kindness to share with the less privilege.”

Dam Tambedou, Arabic Teacher hailed the efforts of Al-Khair Foundation and Hear Women for supporting them while Sally Touray said the food items will help them enormously in meeting their daily basic needs.  “I am happy that you come to my aid at this crucial time when I needed the items most.”

Ndey Faye, a beneficiary said supporting a person who fast in the month of Ramadan is a great reward.

Hear Women- The Gambia is affiliated to Hear Women International based in the United Kingdom.  It is a registered charity in The Gambia, resolve to promoting awareness creation to empower the girl-child and women who are mostly at disadvantage in society.
