Former diplomat and economist Ebou Momar Taal has died. He was 82.
Ebou Momar Taal is a retired career diplomat, economist, linguist, historian and Islamologue.
He was born on the 8th January, 1937 at Basse, according to a blog post found online. Taal racked up many years of work experience in the diplomatic service of The Gambia as permanent secretary at the Ministry of External Affairs/Foreign Affairs, working in both the Jawara and Jammeh governments. He was also ambassador to several countries and international organisations. He was a father to the current president of the Gambia Bar Association, Salieu Taal.
