Meistriliiga side Paide Linnameeskond have signed Gambian striker Alassana
Jatta after a successful trial spell.
The 19-year-old has been training with the club, dubbed the Estonian Barcelona and along scoring four goals in a friendly win over FC Flora’s U21s,which impressed the club’s coaching staff.
He now joins Coach Vjatšeslav Zahovaiko’s led-side on a two-year loan deal from local club Real de Banjul.
Speaking in an interview, Alassana said, he is happy joining the team. Thanking his agent, the management and coaching staff for giving him such an opportunity to be part of the team. “Since I came here [on trial], I have always wanted to stay and be given an opportunity to help the team because I feel it’s a team that continues to develop and plays the best football in Estonia which suits me, said the teenageer from his base in Paide, the capital of Järva County.
He added: “I honestly cannot wait to repay the faith the Club has in me by bringing me here and offering me my first professional contract. I am grateful to my agent for this chance as well!”

The club’s CEO Jaanus Pruuli welcomed the addition of the 1.92m tall striker whom he said, they have high hopes on for the upcoming season.
Alassana is our first signing from the Gambia and our club has very high hopes in his future, since his first training session. He has impressed us with his quality, matureness and professional attitude said Jaanus Pruuli.
He added that: “Despite his young age, he has shown real eagerness to learn and improve we are lucky to be the club where he starts his professional career in Europe. I would like to thank his agent Modou Lamin Beyai and the president of Real de Banjul Mr. William Abraham for this deal and for trusting in our club’s philosophy of developing young talented players.”
Alassana Jatta’s move to Paide Linnameeskond, have never been relegated from the Estonian top-tier league, was brokered by Modoustic Sports PR.
He becomes the third Gambian to sign for an Estonian club after Yankuba ‘Mal’ Ceesay, George Cole and Ebrima ‘SI’ Cham, who were all on the books of Nõmme Kalju FC.
