Gambia’s phenomenal reggae group-Born Africans is set for a mega jam festival
in The Gambia.
The festival dubbed ‘Smiling Coast Big Jam Festival’ is slated for November 25, 2017 at the Independence Stadium in Bakau.
It would be recalled that Born Africans is a phenomenal Gambian music group probably best remembered for their hit songs like ‘Praise’, No More War’,’ Babylon Be Still’, ‘No Camouflage Feeling’ and the list goes on.
The group is regarded by many music enthusiasts as one of the finest music groups to come out of The Gambia, thanks to their distinctive musical prowess.
Formed in 1995, the 4-member crew namely, Dr. Shaka, Ras Python, Ranking Fire and Biggi, the group has for several years have taken the country’s music scene by storm.
Born Africans are credited for being among the trailblazers of Gambian urban music and their forthcoming jam festival will no doubt herald another turning point in the Gambian urban music scene.
According to the organisers, all the proceeds from concert will be used to assist orphans in the country, thereby providing them with quality education at all levels.
