Ebou Jallow, the former spokesman of the Armed Forces Provisional Ruling Council
(AFPRC) military junta has added weight to Alagie Kanyi’s TRRC testimony, saying
that former Finance Minister Ousman Koro Ceesay was murdered by Edward
Singhateh, Peter Singhateh and Alagie Kanyi commonly called Moofa Kanyi.
Captain Jallow made this disclosure during an interview with Freedom Radio, an online radio based in U.S.
The former junta spokesperson noted that Edward Singhateh explained to him, how they murdered Ousman Koro Ceesay and what they did to him before his eventual death.
Captain Jallow explained that he was one of those who Edward’s mother will also call, asking him to come and help her with Edward, because at that time, he (Edward) would always come with different attitudes towards his family. He said that in most cases he would talk to them with a frowned face.
“So when I came and ask him what happened? He would start throwing insults as well as telling me stories about the people he killed, and how he killed them,” Captain said of Edward, noting that this was how he knew about the killing of Koro Ceesay.
He added that Peter Singhateh also explained to him that, the wound he sustained on his hand was during setting of fire on Koro Ceesay’s corpse. He further said that Peter explained to him that his brother Edward Singhateh and Alagie Kanyi killed Ousman Koro Ceesay and burnt him in the bushes of Jamburr bush.
“Peter explained to me that he drove the Mercedes Benz carrying the dead body but Edward Singhateh, Yankuba Touray and others were in the other vehicle going to burn Koro’s dead body around Jambur bush.” he told Freedom radio.
According to Jallow, when he asked Edward what had happened, he told him that your man ‘Shering Barra’ don’t even know what was in the system, adding that Edward said he called Yankuba because he didn’t tell anyone about the operation as he planned everything by himself .
“I fooled everyone and took Koro Ceesay to Yankuba Touray’ s house but when we reached there, Yanks wanted to run away during the time, I hit Koro with pestle, but later Ceesay wanted to get up to fight back, that’s how I double tag him and he fell down.” Edward explained to Captain Jallow.
