Education Ministry releases 2018 GABECE results

The Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education on Monday issued an official press release for the 2018 Gambia Basic Education Certificate Examination (GABECE) results.

According to the release, the total number of candidates that entered for the examination was 20,190 students of which 9,199 were males and 10,991 were females. The released stated that a total of 19 candidates scored 6 in GABECE. 

Three candidates from St Therese’s Upper Basic, two candidates from Presentation of  St Mary’s , two candidates from Yalding Upper Basic, one candidate from Gambia Methodist Academy, one from Kotu Upper Basic, one from Ndow’s  Comprehensive Upper Basic, one from SOS Hermann Gmeiner Upper Basic, one from Talinding Upper Basic, one from Deeper Life Upper Basic, one from St Charles Lwanga Upper Basic, one from St Peter’s Upper Basic one from St Edward’s Upper Basic, one from Darsilami Upper Basic, one from Old Yundum Upper Basic  and one from Anne Marie Javouhey.

“Candidates are to receive their individual result from their respective schools. Admission to grade 10 should be based on passes in the core subject to be decided by boards of governors and not exceeding aggregate 42.”

“Modou B. Jallow of St. Charles Upper Basic School and Sainabou L. jaiteh of St Peter’s Upper Basic School are the top candidates of (GABECE) 2018 results.”
