of the West Africa regional blog ECOWAS have awarded its head of agriculture
division with an ecological award on Ecological Organic Agriculture (EOA) for
the second time.
Gambia-born Ernest Aubee received the award last week in recognition of his immense contributions to the development of Ecological Organic Agriculture in the ECOWAS region.
Mr. Aubee, who is the sitting chairman Ecological Organic Agriculture Initiative- West Africa cluster was appreciated for his relentless efforts in supporting the ECOWAS Member states in developing organic agriculture for the purpose of food and nutrition security, enhanced health, improved livelihood and competitive trade.
During the award presentation, Mr. Aubee was praised for the progress he made in the EOA- Initiative within a short period of time. In October 2018, he also received the Change Agent Award in the area of policy and enabling environment on Aflatoxin mitigation from the African Union.
The award ceremony took place during the 3rd Africa Organic Conference held in Saly, Senegal in November which was organized by the African Union Commission and other stakeholders within and outside the continent to promote the development of organic agriculture.
