midfielder, Ebrima Colley said he was glad to be part of the 23-man squad that
was called by Coach Tom Saintfiet for the Scorpions 2020 World Cup
qualification encounter with Angola, this Friday.
The 19-year-old was speaking in an interview with journalists shortly after his arrival at the Airport on Monday.
Colley, who made his debut for the Scorpions on 22 March, this year in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria, said they all have one aim and objective for coming to represent the country and that is to qualify The Gambia to any major international tournament.
“We all came here to represent our country, every player should be proud to represent your country and fight to give the country and fans what they want and expected from you.”
The young player who started playing for the Atalanta U-19 side before his promotion to the first team, scored a brace during Atalanta preseason game against Renate. He also joined others to appeal to the fans to occupy the Independence Stadium in their large numbers on Friday to support the team.
