The spokesperson of the DLEAG Operatives
of the Drug Law Enforcement Agency The Gambia (DLEAG) have recovered suspected
cocaine from the private-part (anus) of a man suspected to be a drug
trafficker, The Point can confirm.
The suspect Luis Denis Manga, is believed to be a Nigerian residing in Guinea Bissau. He was arrested at the Giboro Border Post.
The spokesperson of the DLEAG, Ousman Saidybah has confirmed the arrest and detention of the suspect, adding that he is in their custody as investigation into the matter continues.
The suspect, he added, was arrested with two pillets of suspected cocaine at the Giboro Border Post.
“One of the pillets of the cocaine was recovered from the suspect’s underwear. However, as operatives of the DLEAG continued their search another pillet was recovered from his anus.”
“I want to emphatically make it clear to the general public that our officers will not leave any stone unturned. We will continue on our commitment in making the country free from drugs and its related activities. Notwithstanding, the cooperation of all is important.”
In a similar vein, a Senegalese soldier who is currently on posting at Kafuntin in the southern part of Casamance was arrested with 16 bundles of cannabis at the same Giboro Border post. The suspect is also helping operatives in their investigation.
