Charitable Foundation; a local charity comprised of young Gambian professionals
from different fields and formed to contribute to the socio -economic
development of the country last Friday donated stretchers and curtains to the
Kanifing General Hospital.
The donated items were meant to improve the welfare of patients at the hospital especially the emergency ward.
The hospital public relations officer Alieu D Badjie said the Foundation has been supporting the hospital in many ways. He expressed optimism that the donated equipments would be of immense benefit to the patients.
Badjie expressed gratitude and appreciation to the Foundation for their foresight.
The hospital administrator Baboucarr Saine said satisfying the needs at the emergency unit is one of the biggest challenges they’re faced with, saying patients’ privacy is important and must be secured at all times.
He assured the donors that the hospital will continue to collaborate with them in order to improve health sector in the country.
Kebba Manneh, chief executive officer of the hospital said the equipments would go a long way in protecting and keeping patient’s privacy. “We have been in need of stretchers for a long. And the coming of these items would greatly help us in our service delivery.”
Mr. Manneh commended the donors for the gesture, further describing the equipments as timely and worthy.
Fatou Jammeh-Mbaye, a representative of Denkula Charitable Foundation said accident and emergency ward is one of the busiest and critical units in any hospital and critical.
She hailed the management and staff of Kanifing General Hospital for their hard work.
