Gambian international Dembo Darboe has been awarded as winner of the first edition of Ndiambour player of the month of December 2018 award by his club following his startling performance in the Senegalese premier league.
Darboe, who hailed from Brikama Sanchaba, won the first edition of the award initiated by his club. He was awarded on Sunday after Ndiambour’s 2-2 draw with Dakar SC.
Darboe can operate on both wings and has secured significant draw for the Louga-based club after his last grasp goals against Generation Foot and Dakar SC. The former Chimo United midfielder scored four goals and assisted two in ten league matches.
He received the award after Ndiambour’s league match with struggling Mbour Petit Cote, in which he scored a braced. The 19-year-old scored five goals in his maiden season in the Senegalese premier league.
According to him, hard work earned him the award, noting that he always does extra-training apart from the team’s normal training sessions. He revealed that his target is to continue his playing career in Europe’s top leagues.
