international winger Demba Savage has netted his first goal for Honka in their
3-1 home win over Vaasan Palloseura in the Finnish Veikkausliiga.
According to Gambia Sports, Savage was one of six players whose contract was terminated by Buyuksehir Belediye Erzurumspor after helping them to gain promotion to the Turkish top tier.
The 30-year-old former HJK Helsinki and BK Häcken forward opened the account for Honka in the 41st minute before the home side extended their lead later through Lucas Kaufmann.
Visiting VPS reduced the deficit before Gambian hopeful Macoumba Kandji extended the lead in stoppage time. Honka failed to secure a spot for the UEFA Europa League qualifiers on goal difference despite the victory. Savage signed a one-year contract that will expire in December 2019.
