Daughters of Gambia (DFG); a not-for profit humanitarian organisation founded by Adama Jarju and Vincent Benedict in January this year, have supported Hope Center Nursery School in Siffoe with an amount of 12, 000 for the payment of teachers salary.

This is the organisation’s first support project to the school and hoped to continue giving humanitarian assistance to the school and help communities in other areas. The support followed the school principal’s appeal to the organisation for support, for the payment of staff salary who are doing voluntary job for the school.

“After the visit of Vincent Benedict, we decided to organise a fundraiser to enable us to meet the principal’s request,” the organisation’s co-founder Adama Jarju said.

She said they will remain committed to support Gambia’s education sector and humanity in general, saying they are hopeful that the little token of financial assistance given to the school will improve both teachers and pupils’ performance.

Vincent Benedict also a co-founder of the organisation said they will continue to support schools and communities to bring development to them that can impact positive changes on the lives.

Chairman of Siffoe Village Development Committee Ebrima Jallow thanked the organisation for the support, assuring them that his committee will always be ready to work with them in the interest of development.
