Faraba youths of Faraba in the Kombo East District on Tuesday evening booed and
threw stones at Ousainou Darboe’s convoy, the Foreign Affairs minister and also
the leader of UDP after he went to the village to share his sorry with victims
and their families.
Mustapha Camara, a youth leader at Faraba confirmed the development to our reporter but said he disapproved the attitude of the youths.
“Definitely I did not support the action of the youths. What’s happened was painful for all of us but in my opinion, they should not have thrown stones at them.”
Asked what might have resulted to youths booing and throwing stones at Mr. Darboe’s convoy, he said: “I believe it is the fact that they are too late to intervene.” According to a source, some young people said they didn’t want any ‘sweet talk’ from the government; that all they wanted to know was who gave the order.
