Dankunku Primary School receives educational materials

PS 443 of New York City Department of Education has recently donated educational materials to Dankunku Primary School, at a ceremony held at the school grounds.

The donation came through the intervention of a couple, Mr Omar Jawo and Mrs Mama Jawo, both natives of Niani kunda in Niamina Dankunku and based in the USA.

Speaking shortly after receiving the donation, Artang K. Jadama, the headmaster of Dankunku Primary School, thanked the New York City Department of Education administration for their timely donation of the resources.

The headmaster also thanked Mr Omar Jawo and Mrs Mama Jawo, who were the brain behind the donation, adding that this would go a long way in complementing the school’s activities.

The materials was timely and urged other Gambians in other countries to help those back home, he said, adding that anything they contribute back home would be a reward for them.

“We shall continue to look forward to partnering with organizations and individuals like this so as to enhance the capacity development of our students, their families and the school community at large.”

He thanked the Regional Educational Director, Mr Ousman Bah, for his support in facilitating the transportation of the materials and the Mari Bantang Association for providing fuel.
