Dankula Foundation distributes food aid to vulnerable people

A charitable organisation Dankula Foundation, over the weekend conducted food aid distribution to dozens of vulnerable households and families within the Greater Banjul Area.

The items distributed include bags of rice, gallons of cooking oil, bags of onion and packs of sugar.

Chairman of the Foundation Babucarr Ceesay said their objective is to put smile on the face of the vulnerable people within the community, assuring that the Foundation will continue to support the less privileged people particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.

Alagie Sarr, a member said the Foundation was setup by ten young Gambians who came from different backgrounds with the motive to help government in nation building. He said over the years, the Foundation has been participating in many activities such as donation of medical items to various hospitals such as Farafenni and Serrekunda General Hospitals.

Mr. Sarr thanked all those who contributed towards the success of the activity. He equally thanked the Foundation’s executive for their active participation in the exercise..

Ma Yam Ndow-Ceesay, a ninety-year old beneficiary thanked the Foundation for the magnanimous gesture, saying it is only Allah who can reward them for the goodwill gesture.  “I continue to pray for the expansion of the Foundation.”

Fatoumatta Jallow, another beneficiary also thanked the Dankula Foundation for supporting her family during this holy month of Ramadan.
